Patchouli Essential Oil





Description:

Patchouli is a square stemmed bushy perennial that has spikes of violet marked white flowers.

The oil is extracted from the dried, fermented leaves which have a penetrating earthy scent.




Therapeutic effects:

The essential oil is used by aroma therapist to help treat stress-related problems, including reduced libido, and to promote new skin cells in the treatment of wrinkles, open pores, eczema, acne, and fungal infections.

It has an uplifting in the treatment of depression and anxiety and can also help alleviate fluid retention.

Uses:

The oil is used for inhalation, in baths and for massage. Small quantities of the oil will have a stimulating effect, while large doses will have a sedation effect.

The essential oil is often used in perfumes and used for an exotic, sensual massage.
