Antimonium Tartaricum

Tartarus stibiatus
GENERAL DESCRIPTION AND INFORMATION
Antimonium Tartaricum is prepared by combining potassium tart rate with oxide of antimony, which is form by the reaction of moist air and antimony. The crystals that are formed are dissolved to make the tincture. It was traditionally used to cause severe vomiting and was taken to expel intestinal worms.
REMEDY PROFILE:
Antimonium Tartaricum is appropriate for people who are attention-seeking, insecure, and respond well to rest, comfort, and reassurance. They do not like being touched or examined, even though they crave attention and sympathy.
Typical physical symptoms include a lack of thirst, excessive cold sweat, weakness, congested, rattle-prone chest infection.
TARGET AILMENTS:
* Cough, Whooping cough - Loud, rattling cough accompanied with shortness of
breath as if suffocating. Coughing up mucus becomes
difficult because of severe fatigue. Cough may be
followed by vomiting. For children swallowing is painful
or impossible. May have a fever, the face is bluish,
pale, cold and covered with sweat. Person feels weak
and on the point to collapse.
* Colds - Gasps for breath and feels weak. Excess mucus, always spitting up mucus
that tends to go into the lungs.
* Bronchitis - Wheezing and rattling in the throat and chest due to build-up of
mucus. Episodes of coughing may alternate with gasping or
rapid shallow breathing.
* Acne - Skin eruptions that leave a purplish mark when healed.
* Chicken Pox - Large, blistering skin eruptions that leave a purplish scar. The
remedy works especially well when taken before the skin
symptoms have developed strongly.
* Headaches - Pain as if a tight band is constricting the head. Pain is heightened
by coughing. There may be a longing to close the eyes.
PREPARATION:
Antimonium Tartaricum is available in tablets or pellets at health food stores. Bottles are
30x 250 tablets, dissolve 3-6 pellets under the tongue 3 to 4 times a day. Give children
half the adult dose and use according to label directions.

None expected as long as remedy is used as directed.
