LATIN NAME:
Biota orientalis
It is sometimes called Oriential arborvitae.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION AND INFORMATION:
It is a slow-growing tree native to China that can reach a height of about 45 feet and grows best in moist soil. When the tree is cultivated, it produces a vast quantity of seeds.
It is able to tolerate air pollution and will grow in cities and is one of the least important of the 50 fundamental herbs of Chinese herbalism.
It is associated primarily with the heart and digestive system and is especially helpful for treating constipation in the elderly due to its oily nature.

Apply externally for:
* burns (use the powdered form of the herb)
