Bryonia




GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Bryonia, also known as will hops or black bryony, is a creeping vine that is commonly found along hedgerows and forests across southern Europe.



TARGET AILMENTS

Take internally for:

* backaches centered in the small of the back; arthritis with sharp, sticking pains;

bursitis.

* colds accompanied by chest congestion; sore throats with pain upon swallowing; influenza; severe headaches that are worsened by light, sound, or any motion; dizziness.

* nausea, vomiting, constipation, gastritis (stomach inflammation), acute diverticulitis (a colon disorder), stomach flu, migraine headaches.

* Headache - Bursting, splitting headache that goes from the forehead to the back of the head. Gets worse with any movement. Pain starts in the morning and gets worse during the day. Feels better if you bend your head backwards or close your eyes.

* Common cold - Cold begins in the nose, with a lot of sneezing and a runny nose, watery, achy eyes and headache that then progresses to the throat and larynx.

* Cough - Dry, hard, painful cough that can bring up blood-streaked sputum. Sharp pains in chest.

* Influenza - Headache, achy limbs, cough and chest pains accompanied with general fever symptoms.

* Digestive disorders - Dry mouth with a white coating on the tongue. Bitter taste in the mouth. Stomach sensitive to touch. Nausea and fainting when rising up from bed. Vomits bile and water up immediately after eating.

Cramping pain that is relieved when drawing the knees up close to the body. Problems after overeating, especially if its meat. Abdomen is very sore to the touch. Sharp burning pain, worse with pressure, coughing, or even breathing.

Constipation, with large, dry very hard stool, as if burned. Diarrhea in the morning: loose, painless stool, containing undigested food.

* Fever - A dry, burning heat. Hot head and red face. Skin is cold to the touch but hot internally. Sweating is either absent or profuse.

* Joint Pains - Red, swollen and hot joints. Inflammation of tissues which feel worse for the lack of movement. Heavy, weary, weak stiff feeling of the limbs.

CHILDREN

* Measles - Undeveloped measles; spots that are slow to develop. Irritable, ugly behavior, wants quiet and to be left alone. A hard, dry cough.

WOMEN

* Breastfeeding - Hot and painful, hard breast with pale red color. Pain gets worse with movement. Mastitis.
