Burr Marigold

LATIN NAME:
Bidens tripartite
Burr Marigold is also known as Water Agrimony.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION AND INFORMATION:
This plant is an annual herb that grows from 1-5 feet tall with a tap root. It has solitary flower heads that are 1-2 inches across and are bright yellow with a yellow center.
The herb is used very little at the present time as a natural remedy.
When the dried herb is burnt, the flower heads give off as cedar-like smell that will act as an anti-insect incense.

* uterine bleeding
* uterine hemorrhage
* ulcerative colitis
* peptic ulcers

PREPARATIONS:
This herb is available as a tincture and dried herb.
It can be used as an infusion.

Collection: The whole plant that is above the ground should be collected when
in bloom between mid-summer and early Fall.

Actions: Astringent, antiseptic, diaphoretic, diuretic, emmenagogue, febrifuge
Combinations: Burr-Marigold can be combined with Ginger to treat
digestive tract ailments.
