Home Remedies For Cough
These are just a few of the many home remedies for cough.
Start with a short colon cleansing diet. Drink juices to rid the bowel of current waste.
Take a little honey from a spoon for a dry and painful cough.
(Honey should not be given to children under the age of 12 months.)
To make a honey remedy even more powerful, add a little bit of mashed onion or garlic in it before taking.
Take 2 tablespoons of honey with 2 tablespoons of lemon juice in water or in apple cider vinegar to stop the tickle feeling in the throat.
Take 2 tablespoons of brandy and 2 tablespoons of lemon juice in a glass of hot water.
Cut out all dairy products from the diet, to reduce the phlegm.
Steam inhalation or a hot compress will help expectoration and stimulate the lungs to work better.
Make sure to get plenty of Vitamin C in the diet daily for the duration of the cold and cough. Eat sprouts, green peppers, broccoli, citrus and cherries. Drink cleansing fruit juices.
If the mucus or phlegm is bright green or yellow indicates the presence of an infection,
so treat accordingly.
Special Note:
Avoid commercial cough syrups, and over-the-counter drugstore medicines. They often make the problem worse by suppression, which forces the infection deeper into the tissues. Concentrate on home remedies for cough instead.
Home made Cough Syrup:
Slice a large onion into rings and place in a bowl or container. Cover with honey and let it stand for 24 hours. Strain off the liquid mixture and you have an anti-microbial cough
elixir.
