Why would you consider an ionic foot detox? Because in our daily lives there are toxins present everywhere; in the air, in food and in water. We clean our houses with an array of toxic sprays including different ones for windows, kitchens, floors, bathrooms, carpets and upholstery.
With medications there are, of course, toxins present and these toxins eventually build up causing our body's immunity to break down and aches, pains and illness to set in.
The human body is, of course, designed to carry a large amount of toxins, but with modern environmental conditions being so clogged with chemicals people now are overloaded and need help to retrieve their natural balance and wellbeing. This is when an ionic foot detox comes into play because it helps to remove the poisonous toxins from the body.
An ionic foot detox is, in fact, a process which draws out the toxins magnetically - using an ionic foot bath with electrically charged saltwater. Healers have been using this method for many years and there are many ionic foot detox baths on the market to choose from.
So how does an ionic foot bath work? The procedure works with 'ions' which are charged atoms (or molecules) that have either gained or lost an electron. They create an electro-magnetic field which, in turn, can remove toxins, or oppositely-charged particles, in the human body.
Each of your feet contain in excess of 2,000 pores and the ionic foot detox is effective because of its ability to produce both positive and negative ions in one treatment through the feet.
The actual treatment for an ionic foot bath involves immersing both feet for up to 30 minutes in a foot bath-. The patient soaks the feet in the ionic foot bath, which is filled with the ion charged water. Gradually the water changes color as the toxins are expelled from the body.
The foot bath detox usually leaves the patient feeling very relaxed and sometimes a little fatigued. Patients have remarked on a sense of well being, relaxed muscles, and a boost to the system and energy following the ionic foot bath.
How to do it at home
Should you wish to create your own foot bath system at home this can be achieved with a simple three step method using ordinary household items. You will need: two bowls (one for each foot obviously), two stainless steel teaspoons, two five foot pieces of electrical wire, a 9v battery, Epsom salts, some electrical tape and two sturdy clips.
Attach the electrical wire - one to each spoon using the tape. Clip the loose ends of the wire onto the battery (one to negative, one positive). Fill the bowls with warm water (remember the feet must be totally immersed) with a spoonful of Epsom salt in each bowl.
Then place one of the stainless steel teaspoons in each bowl. Soak in the foot bath detox for 10 minutes and gradually increase the time to 30 minutes. The water will change color and the color depends on which part of your body is harboring most toxins.
Some of the symptoms which claim to have been alleviated by using ionic foot detox systems, whether commercial or indeed homemade, are: arthritis, insomnia, bad circulation, allergies, eczema, psoriasis, poor concentration, chronic fatigue and many others.
The answer is out there - detoxing and wellbeing is within everyone's reach.
