Juice from half a lemon

Two tablespoons maple syrup

One tenth of a teaspoon of Cayenne pepper

8 ounces of good clean water

You will begin your lemon juice detox by of course creating your drink and preparing for the rigors of the cleanse. During your cleansing, you will not be consuming any food, this is a total liquid diet and you may want to take a day or two to prepare yourself mentally and physically.

It is wise to cancel most outings as you will need to be close to home for the duration of your cleanse. The lemon juice cleanse is recommended for 10 days, however, you can do a fairly efficient cleanse in as little as three days. It is suggested that you consume 6-12 eight-ounce glasses of the lemon juice mixture each day along with plenty of water. The basic concept is to drink the juice instead of eating meals or snacks.

What to Expect

A lemon juice cleanse is going to work on your digestive system and colon to clear the toxins from your body. In order to remove them from the system these chemicals and pollutants must have an exit root, hence the need for close bathroom proximity. The first day will probably not render much in the way of results, however within two to three days you will be amazed at the toxins you are ridding from your body.

Exit Strategy

Once you are ready to come off the lemon juice detox you will want to watch your diet. Going from no food to a full-scale meal may be a bit much for your digestive system, so take it slow. Introduce food at a slower pace beginning with fruits and vegetables and then move to nuts, meat and eggs.
