Menopause Natural Remedies

When should you start menopause natural remedies?
One of the first signs of menopause is when the sound of sweat dripping on the floor keeps you awake at night! (LOL)
Actually, the official start of menopause is declared when a woman has gone twelve consecutive months without a menstrual period. On average this occurs around age fifty-one, but it can occur naturally anytime between ages forty and sixty. It can also be artificially induced through radiation or a hysterectomy (and/or removal of the ovaries).
The good news is that it's natural and you are destined to have the upper hand over any menopause symptoms, discomfort or pain. Here is a list of menopause symptoms. Have you experienced any of these ? I know I have.
- Fatigue
- Mood Swings
- Hot Flashes and Night Sweats
- Insomnia
- Inability to Concentrate
- Low Sex Drive
- Cold Hands and Feet
- Vaginal Dryness
- Heart Palpitations
- Breast Tenderness
The menopause symptoms most frequently experienced include hot flashes and dryness of the vaginal lining. As many as 80 percent of menopausal women experience some hot flashes. The hot flashes usually are the first sign that menopause is close at hand.
During a hot flash blood vessels dilate and skin temperature rises and flushes the skin. This usually occurs about the head and neck and only lasts a few seconds to a minute. These symptoms may be associated with headaches, dizziness, a rapid heartbeat and fatigue.
For the majority of women, it occurs at about the age of fifty, but can occur as early as thirt-five or forty, and may occur as late as sixty.
The time period before menopause is known as Perimenopause, which is what I am going through right now.
So this is the time to start searching for menopause natural remedies if conventional medicine scares you (like it does me).

Women often go to their doctor complaining of some of these menopause symptoms and are misdiagnosed with depression. They are then prescribed anti-depressants when what their body really needs is a natural hormone progesterone supplement.
I really believe in using menopause natural remedies (click Here for a list) because some of the potential side effects associated with synthetic hormones are worse than the symptoms. They include:
- Depression
- Break Through Bleeding
- Spotting
- Changes in Weight
- Pulmonary Embolus ( blood clot in the artificial system to the lung )
- Blood Clot in a Vein
- Loss of Hair
- Rashes
Even with the aid of natural progesterone creams and other menopause natural remedies, I encourage you to make some healthy changes in your life. These are no brainers but few of us adhere to them.
Eat a Healthy Diet. Diet should be particularly high in Calcium and Phytoestrogens. Phytoestrogens are naturally occurring compounds, similar to estrogens, found in plants. Phytoestrogens can be easily found in soya and tofu. Diet high in phytoestrogens reduces the hot flush by 40%.
This is the reason why Japanese women face less severe menopausal symptoms than their western counterparts. Recommended amount: 10-15g of tofu or 2 cups of soya milk. Dairy products, which are high in Calcium, also reduces bone loss to great extent. Recommended amount: 1000gm. Since Vitamin D promotes the consumption of calcium, it is essential to provide enough amount of vitamin D to body. Normal exposure to sun should provide the body with right amount of vitamin D.
Exercise!! Going in for an exercise program which addresses the entire body is always beneficial. Even exercises like walking, swimming, jogging, dancing are useful. To get a complete cardio workout, involve yourself in some aerobic exercise. You can also hit a gym for some weight training which will increase your strength. Training with dumbbells at home, but under guidance, can serve the purpose for you.
It is important to stretch and relax too. Relaxation helps you overcome depression related to menopause. Exercise will also combat weight gain which a women generally experiences during menopause. Yoga is the most effective way to work out. it not only keeps your body active but also keeps your mind stress-free.
Reduce Some of the Stress in Your Life (easier said than done I know!!)
So if you don't want some of the side effects of conventional medicine I encourage you to try menopause natural remedies.
