Rosemary Essential Oil

Description:
Rosemary is a shrub with densely clean packed branches which grows around 3 feet high with leathery gray-green leaves and small pale blue-white flowers.
The clear oil is steam-distilled from the flowers and leaves, and has a powerful, warm, woody aroma.
Therapeutic effects:
It stimulates the circulation and opens surface capillaries. It helps to reduce blood cholesterol levels and in massage oil eases, tired, and overworked muscles. Rosemary, when added to baths, stimulates circulation, helps to ease aching muscles and joints, as well as to clear tired, sluggish mental states.
Uses:
Rosemary is used in several hair care products, dandruff shampoos, eczema, varicose veins and skin creams, especially those for excessive oil.
It is an ancient protective herb. It has antiseptic, antioxidant leaves that help to preserve food and digest fat. The leaves are a spicy ingredient used in cookies, ice cream, and sweet oranges in wine. The flowers are added to salads or crystallized.
Caution:
Do not use the herb or the oil in baths during pregnancy or if you have high blood pressure or epilepsy.
Growth & Propagation:
Grow in a sunny position in well-drained soil. It can be grown in a pot, the placed in the ground during the summer, then removed to a pot for the windowsill for the winter.
