Sage Essential Oil

Description:
The many varieties of common sage are all shrub-like herbs with textured evergreen leaves with a distinctive warm, clean, spicy, pungent scent. Sage plants have small mauve-blue summer flowers.
The Clary Sage plant has a clean, pungent muscatel, “love it or loath it” scent and has pale blue and white flowers.
Therapeutic effects:
Spanish Sage can be used in moderation for deep muscular aches and pains and for treating rheumatism and poor circulation.
Clary Sage is considered an aphrodisiac and counters stress and tension from physical and emotional sources such as:
asthmatic spasms
muscle pain
swollen legs from standing all day
migraines
sexual problems
depression from convalescence.
Clary Sage has a remarkable feel good factor which can range from relaxing to an almost spiritual experience, and can result in vivid dreams.
Uses:
Sage oil is used commercially in minute amounts in perfume, vermouth, and mouthwashes, by the food industry. The oil, however, is toxic and unsuitable for home use.
Caution:
Avoid all Sage oils during pregnancy and if drinking alcohol.
