Tangerine Essential Oil

Description:

Tangerines and Mandarins are from varieties of the same species. Although scent differences are sometimes reported, the differences are more likely due to growing conditions and country origin.

The yellowy-orange expressed peel oil has a lively fresh citrus scent with sweet undertones.

Therapeutic Effect:

The oil expressed from the peel has an energizing, happy effect. This oil, used in massage oils is useful for fluid retention, problem skin, scars and stretch marks after pregnancy.

Tests done up to 8 percent dilution have produced no photo toxicity, so it is a wonderful oil to be used in vaporizers for children, the elderly, pregnant women and the stressed.

Diluted in a carrier oil, it eases many digestive upsets and can even stop hiccups when gently rubbed clockwise on the stomach.

Uses:

The oil is an important cologne component and is added to perfumes, cosmetics, and commercial foods and drinks.

Caution:

Always use low dilutions of this oil for children.
