In undertaking a natural weight loss program it takes more than just cutting back on calories and getting exercise. Getting and staying motivated and staying the course to reach reasonable goals are also required elements for success. This will help you lose belly fat or any other bodily fat you wish to shed!
The exaggerated claims and unfortunate practices of a multi-billion-dollar-a-year diet industry are largely responsible for the frustration expressed by some consumers. Quick and easy weight loss, as well as painless and effortless fitness, is not forthcoming, and reported success rates have turned out to be greatly overstated. Not only is maintained weight loss elusive, but a growing minority of people are becoming increasingly concerned that dieting itself may be harmful to the mental and physical health of the dieter.
We are all aware of the recommended dietary allowances (RDA) listings that appear on the sides or bottoms of the packages of food and snacks. They tell us our recommended daily totals of carbohydrates, fats, protein, vitamins, and minerals we should ingest. Logically, then, the amounts listed should be all we need to stay fit, trim, and healthy.
So why are so many Americans overweight and unhealthy? Poor exercise and eating habits have a great deal to do with our country’s obesity problem, but more significant is the lack of proper nutrition.
It is now confirmed that Obesity contributes to increased risk of chronic and preventable diseases and is a serious public health problem in the United States. A new thinking has emerged about the treatment of obesity.
Obesity is now seen as a complex disorder involving genetic, metabolic, psychological, and lifestyle causes. Rather than focusing on weight loss aimed primarily at attaining a particular goal weight and producing a better appearance, the emphasis today is on weight management, with the objective of improving overall health. Although behavior change is still an important part of Obesity treatment, this concept now includes maintaining new habits and a healthy lifestyle over the long term.
The requirement for vigorous exercise has been relaxed, and the role of moderate exercise in maintaining a healthy weight is now undisputed. Although diet is important, dieting alone is clearly not enough for weight loss.

Although health professionals emphasize that excess weight is a health hazard, the real reason most of us try to focus on weight loss is to improve appearance. That why you are always hearing people saying "I need to lose this belly" ! Being attractive brings favored treatment from others. Looks count!! Appearance plays a role in sexual attraction. Attractiveness is viewed as a source of interpersonal power and popularity, and thus as a major ingredient of happiness and self-esteem.
With the emphasis and importance society places on beauty, appearance, and a slim, trim, fit-looking body, it is no wonder that men, women, and children are increasingly sensitive to how they are perceived by others.
Even those who are not overweight by objective standards often see themselves as being overweight and thus, start a weight loss program. As a result, many of us continue to worry about our weight and undertake weight reduction efforts despite concerns voiced by some experts that dieting doesn’t work, that dieting may be dangerous, and that learning to be more self-accepting is healthier.
I am sure you have heard the statistics: More that 60 percent of the adults in the United States are overweight or obese. More than 33 percent of adults are trying to lose weight, probably the same weight they tried to lose one or two diets before.

There are four key components that are essential to a weight loss and wellness program:
1. Optimal Eating: Food is the energy source for the body. Just as a car engine converts
gasoline to energy, the body converts food to energy so that life can continue. The energy
producing components of food include fat, protein, carbohydrate, and alcohol. Only
the first three are essential to good nutrition. The non-energy components are vitamins,
minerals, water, and dietary fiber. These non-energy substances are the building blocks
of nutrition, a basic understanding of which can help you eat sensibly and protect yourself
from nutrition-related problems.
2. Exercise: Optimal fitness means being the best you can be physically. The components
of a fitness program are aerobic, strength training, joint flexibility, and body composition.
One of the most popular forms of exercise is Pilates!!
3. Stress Reduction: Although the effects of stress in our daily lives may seem
unavoidable, we can learn many techniques to offset the damage done by stress. You
can use meditation to “de-stress the mind” and yoga to “de-stress the muscles”.
4. Mental and Emotional Growth: With positive self-talk, you can literally talk
yourself into success. When your negative self-talk outweighs the amount of
positive self-talk, your chances of weight loss success are reduced.
I always thought that losing weight was easy and couldn’t understand way anyone would settle with being overweight. I never struggled with a weight problem until my late thirties. I have always had a job that kept me on my feet and moving, so why was I putting on weight? We all know that once we hit our thirties our metabolism starts slowing down and for women it is the time that perimenopause can start and cause hormonal imbalance.
