Article: Entertaiment
The word entertainment has evolved into a general idea that encompasses a broad variety of experiences. These can be as simple as selecting the right soundtrack for an evening out with a friend or loading an iPod with new music to share with other friends; to attending a theater, dance, or musical performance; to watching a sports event or movie. Some forms of entertainment may also have a more serious purpose, such as religious festivals, ceremonies, or satire. The term is derived from the Medieval Latin intertenere, which means to hold inside, and has its roots in Indo-European languages.
